Senior iOS Engineering Manager - HealthKit

We are in search of an outstanding engineering manager to spearhead our initiatives within HealthKit. As Apple continues to introduce more health features and facilitate additional health data streams, it is essential to consistently enhance our systems for modeling, storing, and processing health data. This role presents a unique opportunity to influence health management across various platforms and initiatives, including Health, Fitness, Research, APIs, Privacy, and foundational OS systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the exploration, analysis, and development of engineering projects within HealthKit to accommodate the increasing demands from our user base.
  2. Manage a talented team of software engineers, fostering their growth and development.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to navigate hardware and system constraints, ensuring HealthKit's scalability to meet ongoing challenges.
  4. Partner with leaders across Health Software and Apple to deliver an exceptional user experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, particularly with Apple platform technologies such as iOS and macOS frameworks, Swift/Objective-C, and Xcode.
  • 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams focused on designing complex software systems.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects that have significantly influenced organizational direction.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience in large, multi-functional teams.
  • Solid foundation in Computer Science principles, object-oriented programming, and design methodologies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication abilities.
  • Extensive engineering experience with one or more Apple platforms, including iOS, watchOS, and macOS.

At Apple, compensation is a part of our comprehensive package, which is determined within a specified range. This allows for progression as you grow and develop in your role. The compensation range for this position is between $210,900 and $364,100, based on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in our discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Additionally, we offer benefits such as comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, discounts on products and services, and reimbursement for educational expenses related to career advancement. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments.
