POSITION OVERVIEW: The Staff Accountant operates under the guidance of the Controller, assisting in the management of general ledger accounts and various activities to generate financial statements for multiple entities within our organization. This role encompasses daily accounting responsibilities and month-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation. Additionally, this team member will contribute to the year-end closing activities and support annual and semiannual audits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Controller in executing all functions of the Accounting department.
  • Prepare general journal entries across various registers and logs.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain comprehensive reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, along with solid skills in other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with accounting software; experience with QuickBooks is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize tasks effectively as urgent responsibilities arise.
