Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computed Tomography (CT) Scan Technologist to join our team at the University of Miami UHealth System, Department of Radiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex procedures in CT Scan through the operation of radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure.
  • Use independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to ensure the highest quality of images and patient care.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations in the absence of the modality Chief Technologist and notify supervisors of any discrepancies.
  • Verify patient identities and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Apply physical age-specific and developmental care needs of patients according to documented requirements.
  • Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Integrate diagnostic, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to adapt exams as necessary.
  • Adhere to CT protocols to maintain high-quality ultrasound standards.
  • Assist with positioning patients in required anatomical positions for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Adhere to regulatory body guidelines governing modality, including proper aseptic technique and universal precaution guidelines.
  • Keep work areas clean and sanitary and stock exam/dressing rooms with required supplies.
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images, and label them appropriately.
  • Provide assistance with orientation, training, and education of students and new technologists.
  • Demonstrate equipment for site visits and provide in-service classes.
  • Assist in Code Blue procedures during medical emergencies.
  • Assist radiologists and PhDs in developing new protocols and CAT Scan imaging techniques.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a relevant field.
  • ARRT registration.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
