Job Summary

This is a part-time, Adjunct Faculty position in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Southwest Tennessee Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Anthropology courses and contributing to the academic success of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Anthropology courses, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions.
  • Develop and implement curriculum, including syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
  • Grade student work, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend faculty meetings, participate in departmental committees, and engage in professional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote student success and academic excellence.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Anthropology or a related field, or a Master's degree in another field with 18 hours of graduate work in Anthropology.
  • Minimum two years of teaching experience in higher education, or one year of teaching experience and three years of employment in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies, including student-centered learning and technology integration.
  • Experience interacting with diverse student populations and promoting academic success.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person.
