Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Northern Light Acadia Hospital. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic care to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting changes in behavior or physical ailments to professional staff.
  • Respond to patient needs, taking into consideration developmental stage and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Take a mindful and thoughtful approach to all patient interactions, maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Function within the patient care team, focusing on successful treatment and stabilization.
  • Maintain a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures, and reporting environmental hazards and patient safety policy violations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Ability to work with computers, typing, reading, and writing.
  • Ability to extend body and limbs to reach items, stand for prolonged periods, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift, move, and load less than 20 pounds.
