Position Overview:

As a Concrete Estimator, you will be responsible for the comprehensive planning and oversight of estimating functions for designated construction projects. This includes the preparation, analysis, and presentation of estimates within our Self-Perform Concrete Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project documentation, requirements, and specifications.
  • Generate precise quantity takeoffs and material cost assessments.
  • Facilitate subcontractor solicitations and site visits.
  • Evaluate labor and equipment expenses.
  • Develop conceptual estimates.
  • Adhere to bidding timelines and project schedules.
  • Process requisitions for material procurement.
  • Assess competitive trade bids.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to review initial quotes and pre-bid estimates.
  • Compile a list of subcontractors and distribute drawings accordingly.
  • Engage in bid compilation activities on bid day.
  • Support jobsite personnel with estimates post-bid award.
  • Conduct post-bid buyouts when necessary.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Oversee and mentor estimating staff as required.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience in the Concrete Trade.
  • A minimum of 3 years in project engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in interpreting specifications and drawings.
  • Capable of making precise judgments and calculations.
  • Strong understanding of construction costs and principles.
  • Experience in estimating, including quantity takeoffs and purchasing accounting; knowledge of engineering design and project management is advantageous.
  • Proficient drafting and computer skills.
