About the Role

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a skilled Physician/Hospitalist-Internal Medicine to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our medical programs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct Patient Care: Provide and manage direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients within a recognized area of practice or for a specified patient population.
  2. Medical Leadership: Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as necessary.
  3. Education and Training: Train and supervise medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
  4. Program Management: May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
  5. Quality Improvement: Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  6. Professional Development: Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs. Maintains department productivity thresholds and faculty status in good standing with the CWRU SOM (if applicable).
  7. Core Physician Obligations: Adheres to core physician obligations as outlined in the Physician Policy Manual. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
  2. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
