Physician/Hospitalist-Internal Medicine-UHMG-93290: A Leadership Role in Patient Care

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a skilled Physician/Hospitalist-Internal Medicine to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our medical programs.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care: Provide and manage direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients within a recognized area of practice or for a specified patient population.
- Medical Leadership: Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as necessary.
- Education and Training: Train and supervise medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
- Program Management: May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Quality Improvement: Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Professional Development: Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs. Maintains department productivity thresholds and faculty status in good standing with the CWRU SOM (if applicable).
- Core Physician Obligations: Adheres to core physician obligations as outlined in the Physician Policy Manual. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
