University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a skilled Physician/Hospitalist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our medical programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Direct Patient Care: Conduct physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for patients within a recognized area of practice or for a specified patient population.
- Prescribe Appropriate Treatment: Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as necessary to address assessed medical conditions.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as required, and train and supervise medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures.
- Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function, and direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff.
- Meet Departmental Objectives: Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Participate in Health Promotion: Participate in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs, and maintain department productivity thresholds.
- Maintain Faculty Status: Maintain faculty status in good standing with the CWRU SOM (if applicable), and adhere to core physician obligations as outlined in the Physician Policy Manual.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine
- Experience in hospital medicine or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
