The Administrative Support Associate role within the President's Office at Newman University demands a strong level of dedication, professionalism, self-drive, and exceptional interpersonal skills. It is essential for the student assistant to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, dependability, and commitment to both the University and the President's Office. Preference will be given to candidates who can commit to working two hours during the lunch period.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage office coverage during lunch hours (flexible between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
- Handle incoming calls as required.
- Welcome visitors to the President's Office and assist or direct University faculty, staff, and students, as well as community members to the appropriate contacts or locations on campus.
- Prepare written communications, spreadsheets, mailings, and copies as needed.
- Assist with maintaining office files.
- Process daily incoming and outgoing mail, both US and campus.
- Oversee office supply inventory.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of office spaces.
- Occasionally support the Director of Mission Effectiveness.
- Complete mandatory University training sessions, including FERPA and Title IX.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States
- Must be a current full-time student at Newman University (minimum of 12 credit hours)
- Demonstrated strong organizational and communication abilities
- Availability to cover lunch hours (flexible from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
Required Days and Times: Office coverage needed during lunch hours (flexible, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.); the remaining schedule will be based on the student's availability during standard office hours.
