Job Description

Position: Financial Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant with experience in the construction sector or a related field. This role will encompass responsibilities in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Management, Payroll, Month-End processes, and providing administrative support for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily Accounts Payable transactions, including product receipt verification, purchase order matching, bill recording, and vendor payments.
  • Manage daily Accounts Receivable activities, such as invoicing, processing customer payments, and conducting collection calls.
  • Oversee payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation.
  • Input data into the accounting system with precision.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll and accounting regulations.
  • Reconcile intercompany billing discrepancies.
  • Monitor financial transactions effectively.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Generate ad hoc reports as required.
  • Support the Site Controller with month-end closing activities.
  • Help prepare for annual audits and respond to audit inquiries.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and offboarding processes for team members, serving as an administrator for payroll and benefits systems.
  • Maintain accurate personnel files.
  • Perform additional office duties and support as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company and customer safety protocols, reporting any safety concerns or incidents immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and practices.
  • Experience in the construction industry or a similar field.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Prior experience in accounting, particularly in AP, AR, and cash management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Prior payroll processing experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Sage software is preferred.
  • Ability to assess and enhance internal processes for standardization and improvement.
