Job Overview

We are looking for a Bilingual Accounting Supervisor to join our team at Hanwha Advanced Materials. The successful candidate will have the ability to analyze, interpret, and convey intricate financial information, while also collaborating effectively with the team to implement necessary improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the accounting and treasury departments, ensuring precision, efficiency, and adherence to regulations and internal policies.
  • Guarantee timely and precise monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, meeting all deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Formulate, execute, and uphold appropriate accounting methods, policies, and principles to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Establish and supervise internal control operations, addressing auditor inquiries and ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
  • Support the accounting ERP system, facilitating the transition from financial to managerial closing processes and ensuring the smooth operation of financial systems.
  • Gather and provide necessary information for audit inquiries, collaborating with auditors to facilitate audit processes and ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Oversee and mentor staff accountants, offering guidance and support to ensure timely and accurate task completion, including managing non-routine transactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, as responsibilities may evolve to meet the organization's changing needs.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on expenditures, collaborating with departments to fulfill operational requirements, assess control effectiveness, minimize costs, and enhance processes.
  • Prepare financial reports, annual budgets, and various feasibility studies and special projects to ensure senior management has the necessary information for effective decision-making.
  • Provide high-level analytics and complete projects for senior management as required.
  • Manage accounting activities including general ledger preparation, year-end audit preparation, and support for budgeting and forecasting activities, all under strict deadlines.
  • Assist in safeguarding assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Exhibit creativity, intelligence, and discretion in managing departmental functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • 5+ years in a managerial role with increasing responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient technical skills in accounting software and financial management systems, such as QuickBooks.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying financial information, analysis, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Master's degree or CPA preferred.
  • Korean bilingualism preferred.
