TotalMed: Step Down Unit Registered Nurse Opportunity

As a registered nurse in TotalMed's Step Down Unit, you will provide specialized care for patients transitioning from intensive care. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing and monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the step-down unit, focusing on their transition from intensive care to general medical-surgical units.

• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respiratory status to ensure their safe transition to the general medical-surgical units.

• Administer medications and perform procedures as ordered by the physician, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Educate patients and families on post-intensive care recovery, medication management, and self-care techniques to promote a smooth transition to general medical-surgical units.

• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to facilitate patient progress and optimize outcomes in the step-down unit.

Required Qualifications

Current RN licensure

BLS certification and other certifications as required by the facility

Two years of recent experience in the step-down unit, with strong communication and adaptability skills
