Role Summary: Alta is in search of skilled candidates for the role of Infrastructure Project Engineer to assist with civil and environmentally oriented initiatives. Our civil projects encompass stormwater management, potable water systems, and various municipal infrastructures. Our environmental endeavors include the reclamation of abandoned mining sites, ecological restoration, and flood mitigation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, organized, and detail-focused individual who thrives in a collaborative and innovative team environment. This position offers an exciting blend of project oversight, business development, and engineering responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in all stages of project development including planning, design, estimation, and construction for private, municipal, state, and federal clients.
- Lead the engineering team in the planning, pre-design, and design phases of diverse projects such as flood management, stream restoration, wetland mitigation, stormwater systems, municipal water and sewer systems, and remediation projects.
- Oversee or execute technical tasks including drafting, quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, hydraulic modeling, and quality assurance activities.
- Deliver high-quality outcomes that consistently meet deadlines and budget constraints while adhering to the project scope.
- Act as a primary liaison with clients, ensuring timely communication with management regarding project developments, client interactions, or other relevant matters.
- Mentor and develop team members while embodying Alta's core values of integrity and respect.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in relevant software including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil3D, and various modeling applications.
- Personable and enjoys engaging with clients and team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and reliable.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
- Experience in construction oversight and contract management.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site assessments and meetings.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer registration in Idaho, or the ability to obtain it within six months.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in a related field.
- Familiarity with all project phases from scope development through execution and closure.
- Experience in project/task management.
- Background in business development or experience working with clients and public entities.
- Completion of 40-Hour or 24-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (with current 8-hour refresher training).
