Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and schedule work for assigned personnel, ensuring effective distribution of tasks and adequate staffing levels.
  2. Establish and update maintenance standards and priorities to enhance operational efficiency.
  3. Develop, estimate, and manage plumbing and pool improvement projects, aligning with current and future budgetary cycles.
  4. Provide guidance, training, and support to staff engaged in daily plumbing maintenance tasks and projects.
  5. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards, operational procedures, and safety regulations.
  6. Review and revise plumbing maintenance specifications based on optimal personnel utilization, budget constraints, and industry best practices.
  7. Maintain direct communication with a diverse range of stakeholders regarding the quality, safety, and comfort of building conditions.
  8. Consult with stakeholders about maintenance frequency and standards, coordinating with other departments to address plumbing deficiencies.
  9. Establish and manage equipment and supply maintenance budgets, ensuring accountability and adherence to purchasing protocols.
  10. Initiate procurement of supplies, services, tools, and equipment as per established procedures.
  11. Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for tools and equipment to ensure longevity and safety, minimizing potential hazards.
  12. Engage with the department's computerized work management system to assess and enhance plumbing maintenance performance.
  13. Ensure plumbing personnel receive proper training in maintenance practices, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  14. Provide constructive performance feedback to employees and participate in the hiring process for new staff.

Qualifications:

Valid Class E Driver's License is required.

Work Schedule:

Standard hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with variations possible due to project demands or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in a recognized trade, along with relevant experience totaling five years; or a high school diploma or equivalent combined with five years of relevant experience. Vocational or technical training may substitute for experience on an equivalent basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five years of direct supervisory experience in plumbing systems or a combination of education and experience. Experience in an institutional research environment is advantageous. Proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is preferred.
