Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage staff within residential units, ensuring compliance and high-quality care for residents. Direct care staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-equipped living environment. Ensure individuals' schedules for work, school, and leisure activities are followed. Assist staff with daily personal care duties as needed. Attend relevant committees and meetings as assigned.
Participate in the hiring process by serving on a team that conducts interviews and makes recommendations. Orient, train, and supervise assigned staff while monitoring compliance with departmental, program, state, and federal regulations. Track staff attendance and process leave requests. Verify payroll documentation and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary. Address grievances according to established policies and assist staff in problem resolution. Conduct timely performance evaluations.
Develop staffing plans and manage the selection process as needed. Schedule and replace staff to ensure adequate coverage and the safety and well-being of individuals.
Coordinate with the Program Manager to prepare agendas and lead unit staff meetings, discussing policies, procedures, and other relevant concerns.
Engage with individuals and their families to ensure high-quality care and living conditions. Foster family involvement by maintaining regular communication regarding individuals' needs. Advocate for individuals' rights and assist them in achieving self-help and socialization goals as outlined in their Individual Plans.
Report any allegations or suspicions of abuse and neglect to the appropriate authorities and follow up as necessary. Prepare and review daily communication logs and reports on individuals as required. Collaborate with parents and workshop staff to address individuals' concerns and progress. Maintain accurate records of individuals' finances and authorize necessary transactions.
Ensure compliance with regulations and oversee daily operations. Serve as the first point of review for work-related incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up. Assist in developing and monitoring the living unit budget, including expenditures for food, maintenance, and personnel costs. May require training in medication administration and monitoring of related documentation.
Perform additional duties as required, including serving on committees and participating in training programs. Be available for on-call duties during holidays and other necessary times.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate's Degree in a Human Services field preferred.
- Minimum of one year of relevant training or experience required.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and other required software.
- Valid Driver's License with fewer than six points.
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on program needs.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
Post-Offer Requirements:
- Negative results from a T-Step TB test and drug screening.
- Satisfactory results from work-related lifting tests.
- Successful completion of State and Local Records Checks.
Post-Employment Requirements:
- Maintain applicable licenses and certifications in good standing.
- Annual TB screening and completion of delegated nursing training.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification and other required training.
Compensation: Pay Range: $18.30 to $28.18
