Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be acceptable.
  • Expertise in Continuous Improvement: A solid foundation in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices is essential.
  • Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years in progressive leadership roles within a dynamic Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Reduction Initiatives: Drive initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and other continuous improvement strategies.
  • Production Planning: Work closely with the planning team to create and modify production schedules that align with both internal and external requirements.
  • Team Development: Cultivate a supportive work atmosphere by ensuring effective communication and involvement with team members to enhance safety, engagement, productivity, and throughput.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Support supervisors in coaching team members, making employment decisions, and resolving conflicts.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Collaborate with Maintenance Department leadership to strategize and implement preventative maintenance on production lines.
  • Performance Analysis: Review and report on production metrics, including output, downtime, attendance, overtime, and quality assessments, to the Plant Manager.
  • Budget Management: Partner with the Plant Director and Planning Department to establish and oversee the Production Department budget and forecasts.
  • Process and Quality Enhancement: Propose and execute strategies aimed at refining production methods, enhancing equipment performance, and improving product quality.
  • Capital Investment Justification: Create justifications for capital expenditures related to machinery upgrades and process technology improvements to boost quality, reduce costs, and optimize cycle times.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Recommend modifications in working conditions and equipment utilization to elevate departmental efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with various departments to consistently meet customer deadlines.
  • Safety Advocacy: Partner with plant leadership to promote a top-tier safety culture, adhering to stringent safety programs, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Inventory and Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with raw material planners to ensure inventory levels are in sync with production schedules, addressing supplier quality issues proactively to avoid customer shortages.
  • Quality Assurance Collaboration: Work alongside the Quality Department to prevent and resolve challenges related to Non-Conforming Finished Goods and Non-Conforming Raw Materials.
