Position Summary

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing essential manufacturing workflows and equipment for the production of our innovative battery cells, leveraging advanced electrode technology. This position requires close collaboration with the Cell Engineering Team and operational staff to ensure the efficient production of electrodes and battery cells.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess manufacturing procedures based on quality metrics, including efficiency and speed.
  • Analyze production requirements and machinery specifications.
  • Design and implement effective automated and manual systems.
  • Oversee the installation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Manage and streamline manufacturing workflows and resource allocation.
  • Integrate various systems for equipment handling and transport.
  • Enhance facility layouts, production lines, and overall machine performance.
  • Address and resolve production challenges and delays.
  • Strive for high-quality outputs and yield processes that align with customer expectations.
  • Foster continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance quality while minimizing costs.
  • Provide training to staff on new and existing processes.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to optimize production.
  • Utilize production-scale coating techniques to achieve precise electrode specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in manufacturing practices.
  • Upgrade processes and systems with cutting-edge technology.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering); advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing engineering role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, and tool design.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Experience with processes such as powder handling, mixing, coating, slitting, and welding.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., CAD, MS Office).
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally work late shifts.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. and perform tasks requiring standing, sitting, climbing, and repetitive motions.
