Role Overview:
As a key representative of TransForce, the Logistics Transport Specialist is tasked with the safe and effective transportation of compressed gas cylinders to both local and regional business clients. Utilizing a company-provided vehicle, the specialist will engage in loading, unloading, and delivering gas cylinders while maintaining consistent communication with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely loads, transports, and unloads cylinders containing compressed gases to designated customer locations. Accurately records deliveries and collections on a load manifest, ensuring customer signatures are obtained for receipt verification. Responsible for collecting empty cylinders or any unsold merchandise and returning them for refilling.
- Fosters and maintains positive customer relationships by addressing service inquiries and resolving complaints effectively.
- Communicates promptly with management or the assigned sales associate regarding any customer-related changes or issues encountered during deliveries.
- Maintains accurate load manifests and vehicle documentation, ensuring compliance with safety standards and government regulations, including those from the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any deficiencies and ensuring all safety equipment is operational.
- Assists in warehouse operations or dock activities as required.
- Possession of a valid Class B Driver's License.
- Current Medical Examiner's Card.
- Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications (or willingness to obtain as a condition of employment).
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional driving experience within the last five (5) years with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- In lieu of experience, a diploma from an accredited driving school along with at least one (1) year of driving experience may be considered.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
