Position Overview:


The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role within the surgical team, ensuring that operative procedures are conducted safely and effectively.

This role operates under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and reports directly to the management of Surgical Services. The Surgical Technologist is expected to contribute to system-wide initiatives and uphold surgical operational standards. Furthermore, this individual will actively engage in the surgical operations safety plan as delineated.

Key Details:

Compensation:
$36.48/hour (based on experience)

Eligibility for Benefits:

Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours/week. Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with on-call rotation during weekdays and weekends.

Department:
General Surgery, part of SCL Health. Specialty cases encompass OB/GYN, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, and Endoscopy procedures.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be expected to:


Maintain all surgical service areas in a sterile and orderly condition, adhering to safety and infection control protocols.

Assist in endoscopic procedures as the Endoscopy Technician and manage the decontamination and reprocessing of endoscopes.


Maintain proficiency as a Surgical Technician and perform duties as outlined by professional standards in all surgical cases.

Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and support staff in the Surgical Services Department.

Manage the processing, storage, distribution, and monitoring of surgical instruments, equipment, and patient care items.

Your Qualifications:

- High School diploma or GED.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program.
- NCCT Surgical Technologist certification (TS-C) or NBSTSA certification.
- Registration as a Surgical Technologist in the state of practice.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
