KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement FDC models and PCS applications for semiconductor machinery using third-party software.
  • Create bridging software applications that connect electrical systems with local or cloud-based IIoT/FDC servers, employing various communication protocols such as SECS/GEM, Modbus, OPC, OPC UA, DeviceNet, and Profibus.
  • Gather, analyze, validate, and generate reports from multiple data sources; present insights to engineering and production teams.
  • Collaborate with the Management Information Systems (MIS) team regarding equipment and software procurement; engage with vendors to support the implementation and validation of new systems.
  • Oversee and maintain the ARTIST system, including Oracle databases, ARTIST application servers, and related upload/parse systems.
  • Monitor and enhance the FDC system; propose processes or procedures to optimize system performance and functionality.
  • Utilize statistical modeling, data analysis, simulations, and algorithms to address complex automation challenges.
  • Work closely with equipment, manufacturing, process, and quality assurance engineering teams to develop models aimed at improving equipment performance and wafer yield.
  • Establish and deliver reporting frameworks and process solutions to ensure prompt resolution of equipment issues.
  • Respond to inquiries from other engineering teams regarding automation-related matters and product or device specifications.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures as mandated.
  • Perform additional duties of a similar nature or level as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in software or hardware modeling, simulation, or algorithm development.
  • Proficiency in Java and Python, with experience in C#, C++, Windows/Linux operating systems, MS Office, Oracle/SQL databases, computer networking, and shell scripting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with various communication protocols and electronic hardware.
  • Understanding of SEMI standards, GEM/SECS interfaces, logic design, semiconductor fabrication processes, time series data analysis, and statistical quality control.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor industry principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Insight into FDC systems and PCS applications in relation to manufacturing equipment systems.
  • Comprehension of electrical systems, circuit design, and software development.
  • Adept at data analysis, report generation, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and management.
  • Ability to work independently, productively, and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Commitment to adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
