Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate and address complaints concerning violations of municipal, county, or state regulations.
• Inform violators about administrative options available for resolving their infractions.
• Conduct patrols in designated areas to identify potential violations, issuing verbal warnings when necessary.
• Generate Field Notices of Violation and Citations as appropriate.
• Perform on-site evaluations of businesses seeking occupational licenses, guiding owners through necessary procedures such as permits and state licensing.
• Examine complaints related to environmental violations, including abandoned vehicles and debris.
• Prepare cases and provide testimony in court regarding code violations.

Additional Duties:
• Collaborate with citizens, city officials, businesses, homeowners, and legal representatives to share information, negotiate, and resolve disputes.
• Verify property ownership and review historical violation records.
• Inspect vacant lots for compliance with lot clearing regulations.
• Interview business proprietors to gather and confirm relevant information.
• Respond to inquiries from the public, contractors, and builders about ordinance provisions and enforcement policies.
• Document inspections and maintain records of violations, including photographic evidence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Comprehensive understanding of zoning ordinances, housing codes, building regulations, and environmental laws.
• Proficient in code enforcement methodologies and procedures.
• Capable of identifying code violations and interpreting plans.
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with property owners, contractors, and the public while enforcing regulations with firmness and tact.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of experience in code enforcement, regulatory compliance, public administration, or customer service.
• Certification in Code Enforcement and Licensing is preferred.

Special Requirements:
• Valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment:
• Regular working hours may include evenings and weekends.
