Job Title: Instructional Designer

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. As an Instructional Designer, you will play a key role in transforming our current training program for technicians into a unified, competency-based enterprise-wide training system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing content and map it to the approved competency framework, ensuring alignment with our organization's goals and objectives.
  • Design and develop engaging learning experiences, collaborating with developers to create interactive and immersive content.
  • Produce a storyboard with suggested images, interactions, and a voice-over script, ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work with Quality Assurance and subject matter experts to ensure updated content meets technical and competency requirements, maintaining a strong focus on quality and compliance.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Proficient in analysis and providing recommendations for blended learning solutions, with a strong understanding of educational technologies and their applications.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and educational technologies, with a strong ability to design and develop engaging learning experiences.
  • Experience in creating training for highly technical content, preferably within the energy industry, with a strong understanding of the industry's specific needs and challenges.
  • Expertise with Articulate 360 and strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, with a strong ability to work with a variety of tools and technologies.
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work samples, demonstrating a high level of creativity, innovation, and technical expertise.
  • Able to collaborate in a large team and work on multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Job Details:
  • 100% Virtual Position, with flexible hours and a competitive hourly rate ($55-$60 per hour).
  • 40 hours per week, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance and flexibility.
