Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Petco #602. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to our patients and delivering outstanding customer service to their owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, and other medical procedures
  • Perform laboratory tests, take vital signs, and record patient information
  • Administer medications, handle and dispense medications, and maintain electronic medical records
  • Schedule appointments, communicate with clients, and educate them on pet care and health
  • Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, monitor anesthesia, and provide post-operative care
  • Participate in training new staff members and contribute to the overall success of our hospital
Requirements
  • College or college-equivalent education as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state of employment
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Compassion, empathy, and a professional attitude in emotionally challenging situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
