We are seeking a dedicated reporter to cover stories and issues pertinent to the Marshall, Kilgore, and Carthage locales. This position also includes responsibilities as the Saturday editor.

The primary focus of this role involves reporting on daily news and developing in-depth feature articles in collaboration with our team across three different newsrooms, with a particular emphasis on Marshall and Kilgore. The selected candidate will work closely with the regional editor and will assume leadership in the newsrooms during the regional editor's absence, particularly on Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce two articles daily based on assigned beats or special features for our publications.
  • Coordinate or capture photography and video content to complement your stories.
  • Oversee the Saturday editorial process, including managing assignments, editing submissions, and collaborating with design teams to finalize pages.
  • Engage with fellow reporters on investigative projects across our newsrooms.
