Job Summary:

As a Radiologist Team Lead at Oaklawn Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in mentoring and training other mammography technologists while coordinating schedules with various departments to ensure seamless day-to-day operations in the Women's center. You will collaborate closely with the Manager of Radiology, Diagnostic Services, Radiologists, and other personnel to oversee and execute technical procedures.

  • Develop and maintain diagnostic procedures and staff compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Provide general oversight of students, guiding them in their development and ensuring they meet the necessary competencies.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and assessment of mammography technologist evaluations and competencies.
  • Perform mammograms, bone densities, and biopsies in accordance with department procedures, as well as provide support with tasks such as dressing and changing for patients with serious illnesses, injuries, or disabilities.
  • Review and evaluate digital images and computer-generated information to determine their suitability for diagnostic purposes.
  • Communicate procedures to patients and observe them to ensure their safety and comfort during the scanning process.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions, reporting any abnormal signs to the physician.
  • Implement radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations, prioritizing the safety of both patients and staff.
  • Record, process, and maintain patient data and treatment records, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Coordinate work with clerical personnel and other technologists to ensure efficient operation.
  • Demonstrate new equipment, procedures, and techniques to staff and provide technical assistance as required.
  • Conduct scheduled quality assurance studies, perform minor emergency repairs on equipment, and undertake maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

    Requirements:

    An associate degree in X-ray Technology or a related field, accompanied by 5 years of experience in a hospital radiology department. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) is mandatory. Additionally, American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification is required. Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year. This salary estimate is based on industry standards and may vary depending on location and other factors.
