Job Summary:

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) is seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Specialist to join our team. As a Business Analyst, you will work directly with cross-functional teams across diverse divisions to analyze evolving business needs, perform strategic assessments, document complex processes, and capture detailed business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide business analysis planning and monitoring, requirements analysis, solution assessment, and requirements elicitation.
  • Work as a Quality Control and Test analyst responsible for ensuring that all developed and modified applications meet the defined needs of the users and the OITS standards for quality, security, and privacy.
  • Perform pre-user acceptance testing and work with users to assist them in accomplishing their user acceptance testing.
Requirements:
  • Experience in IT system and software requirements documentation and ongoing process and staff improvement.
  • Proven record as a Business Analyst with experience in soliciting and documenting business and system requirements for State IT projects.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst with skills and attributes used to be successful in this role.
Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are primarily conducted indoors in an office environment. The incumbent will have a workstation with modular furniture, an adjustable rolling chair, a computer with various software programs, a telephone with voicemail, and stationary filing drawers and bins.
