Mechanical Engineer II

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join our team of innovators and problem solvers. As a key member of our spacecraft design team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing mechanical systems for our reusable launch vehicles and spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and installations for our launch vehicles and spacecraft.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Perform tolerance and analysis work to validate designs and review analysis work by others.
- Support fabrication, integration, and test activities by providing product engineering expertise and hands-on support.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, modeling, and drafting.
- Working knowledge of aerospace requirements, testing, and materials.
- Experience with 3D CAD programs, such as Creo, and product lifecycle management tools, such as Windchill.
- Strong bias for action, self-starter, and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
- Passion for Blue Origin's mission to make humanity a multi-planetary species.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, modeling, and drafting.
- Experience with launch vehicle systems, including cryogenics.
- Experience testing pressurized systems, including water, pneumatics, hydraulics, and cryogenic propellants.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and/or guiding other engineers.
- Experience using Finite Element Analysis, especially ANSYS.
