Position Overview:

In the role of Patient Care Associate, you will assist medical personnel in providing care to patients. Your duties will encompass aiding patients in maintaining personal hygiene, delivering nourishment as needed, ensuring safe transport and escort of patients within the facility, and participating in daily operations under the guidance of a Nurse. You will ensure quality care in alignment with the medical plan and organizational protocols, engage professionally with patients, visitors, and medical staff, uphold a high standard of organization, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support patients with personal hygiene tasks
  • Reposition and transfer patients between wheelchairs, seats, and beds
  • Assist in lifting and positioning patients as directed by the nurse
  • Facilitate safe transport within the facility under nurse supervision
  • Prepare stretchers for incoming and outgoing patients
  • Assist in patient discharges from recovery when assigned
  • Manage inventory and restock supplies as necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Report any incidents related to patient safety or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately
  • Comply with all center policies regarding confidentiality as established by the Governing Body
  • Maintain all required certifications as mandated by state and federal regulations as well as any credentials required by the facility
  • Assist in other areas as needed based on workload
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Strong clinical foundation
  • Capability to lift and move patients
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in New York State
Work Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM
Compensation:
  • Hourly Rate: $22.00
