Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to join our team at Suffolk Surgery Center. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Patient Care: Oversee the care of patients in the preoperative, operative, and recovery room areas, ensuring that quality care is administered.
  • Lead Clinical Team: Directly supervise LPNs, Technicians, ancillary staff, and medical assistants, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communicate Effectively: Provide timely and accurate communication to all surgical staff, update frequently, and ensure that patient information is accurately documented.
  • Manage Surgical Rooms: Ensure that surgical rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment, and that all necessary pre-operative tests are completed.
  • Collaborate with Physicians: Work closely with physicians to ensure that patient care is aligned with medical plans and organizational policies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor of Nursing required or equivalent relative experience, with a minimum of 2 years management/supervisory experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Current ACLS/BLS certification required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills, above-average customer service skills, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
