Role: Senior Emergency Room Nurse (RN)

Department: Emergency Services

Work Schedule: Full-Time Nights (7 PM - 7 AM); includes rotating weekends

**$10,000 Hiring Incentive Available for New Candidates or Eligible Rehires (with 1+ year term date)

Core Responsibilities:

The Senior Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed healthcare professional with a minimum of two years of experience. This role involves utilizing the Parkland nursing practice model to oversee patient care delivery, focusing on specific patient populations and health conditions in collaboration with the healthcare team. The RN will assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses based on health responses, create and implement personalized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes. The RN is responsible for guiding patients through their healthcare journey, ensuring there are no preventable complications or delays. The RN will delegate tasks to healthcare personnel in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act, considering each patient's condition and the competencies of the staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver care to assigned patient populations in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, and clinical standards.
  • Conduct continuous assessments and collaborate with team members as necessary to provide patient-centered care.
  • Exercise independent judgment in nursing practices.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff in line with established policies.
  • Provide guidance to non-nursing staff, serve as a preceptor, and take on Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed.
  • Prepare and conduct educational programs for staff.
  • Exhibit patient-centered behaviors consistently.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing standards for specialty care areas as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A.S.N. or BSN Degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current/Valid State of Texas RN license or Compact RN license in good standing.
  • Two (2) years of direct nursing experience in an Emergency Department setting within the last two (2) years.

Certifications Required:

  • Current/Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider.
  • Current/Valid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current/Valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Current/Valid Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification.
