Job Overview:
- Evaluate the patient's condition prior to surgical procedures. Ensure the Operating Room is fully equipped with all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room. Assist surgeons by passing medical instruments during procedures and monitor the patient's vital signs.
- Assess postoperative patients and review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols before and after surgical interventions.
- Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver perioperative care to surgical patients in recovery, procedural, and operating environments.
- Ensure operating rooms are stocked with sterile surgical instruments, linens, and necessary supplies.
- Formulate and implement nursing care plans tailored for surgical patients.
- Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting the surgical sites.
- Assist surgeons during surgical operations.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a BSN.
- Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR RN.
