Position Summary:
Sovah Health is seeking a dedicated individual to undertake receptionist, registration, and administrative responsibilities associated with both direct and scheduled patient admissions. The role involves welcoming patients, gathering demographic and financial details, securing necessary signatures, and processing payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all required demographic, billing, and clinical information is collected and accurately entered into the registration system in a timely manner.
- Distribute necessary forms, documents, and educational materials to patients and their families.
- Engage with patients and caregivers to exchange essential information and documentation, providing clarity on processes and addressing any concerns.
- Coordinate with the admitting physician's office, nursing staff, and other relevant personnel to facilitate patient admissions and determine appropriate placements.
- Manage appointment scheduling and communicate any changes to relevant departments and colleagues.
- Verify insurance benefits and confirm authorizations/pre-certifications.
- Review physician's orders for completeness and compliance, ensuring all necessary forms and records are in order.
- Handle estimations, oversee upfront collections, process payments, establish payment plans, and assess patients' ability to pay, escalating issues as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Skills:
- Basic understanding of CPT & ICD10 codes, along with knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care Payers, as well as Medical Terminology.
- Typing speed of at least 30 WPM with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to thrive in a high-pressure environment and respond appropriately.
- Medium-level critical thinking skills.
- Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple areas of Patient Access and adaptable to departmental needs, including working in the Emergency Department.
- Ability to assess relevant CPT & HCPCS codes and confirm that necessary authorizations are in place.
- Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care.
Experience: One to two years of customer service and/or healthcare experience is preferred.
