Prevention Specialist

Hope For Youth is seeking a skilled Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our prevention program, you will play a vital role in educating children, adults, and families about the risks associated with substance and alcohol use.
Job Summary:The Prevention Specialist will be responsible for presenting evidence-based curricula, such as "Too Good for Drugs," in elementary school classrooms and leading community awareness events in the Town of Babylon. This is a part-time position, requiring 21 hours of work per week.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement prevention programs for elementary students using the "Too Good for Drugs" curriculum.
- Conduct community awareness events to raise awareness about substance and alcohol use.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide support and services to clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and partners.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
- At least one year of experience working with children and adolescents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
- Benefit eligibility commences on the first of the month following the first 30 days of employment.
