Job Description

The Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Ohio University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a temporary, part-time Instructor of Anthropology position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Anthropology, including Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, Introduction to Biological Anthropology, and Introduction to World Archaeology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Anthropology, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions.
  • Develop and implement course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Provide academic advising and support to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental initiatives.
Requirements:
  • ABD or PhD in Anthropology.
  • Experience as an independent instructor of a relevant course at the university level.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
