Overview:
The Seller Partner Services (SPS) Finance team at Amazon is on the lookout for a proactive Lead Financial Analyst to drive innovative financial solutions for our worldwide Stores finance community. This position is pivotal in enhancing financial reporting, analytical processes, and profitability insights at an unparalleled scale. As a key player in this role, you will gain comprehensive insights into the WW Stores business and enjoy a unique global perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with global stakeholders across various finance and operations teams to spearhead the automation of financial reporting and analysis for distinct business segments such as Everyday Essentials, Private Brands, Prime, Sort-Type, Item Size, and more.
- Serve as the financial steward for the inputs, assumptions, and methodologies utilized in P&L reporting tools, which are essential for leadership and managerial decision-making.
- Establish ongoing mechanisms to uphold governance and controllership initiatives.
- Document workflows to ensure transparency in allocation methodology configurations.
- Work alongside technical teams to automate the validation of input and output data.
- Engage in slice owner working groups to evaluate allocation methodologies and audit existing slice logic.
- Influence product roadmaps by documenting challenges and supporting data to prioritize initiatives.
A Day in the Life:
Support ongoing operational processes while also managing project-related tasks. Influence key stakeholders, including finance, business, and technical teams. Become an expert in navigating complex formulas, systems, and processes to generate meaningful insights that guide our finance customers towards more informed decisions. Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly reporting processes. Define, test, and implement new features and functionalities to enhance customer experience, automate manual processes, and increase value to these functions.
About the Team:
The Profitability and Business Metrics Services Finance team is an integral part of SPS finance. This team was created to minimize the substantial manual effort expended by the finance community and to promote the centralization and standardization of tools and processes. A successful candidate will have the autonomy to be innovative, think broadly, and develop new processes and mechanisms. A commitment to serving internal customers is essential. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with meticulous attention to detail, capable of working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical discipline (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in continuous improvement projects within your team to enhance controllership with measurable outcomes.
- MBA or CPA.
- Proficiency in Tableau.
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
