Shriners Children's is recognized as a leading medical center specializing in pediatric burns, orthopaedics, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and various pediatric subspecialties. We are currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to contribute to our mission.

Job Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for the professional practice related to communication and swallowing disorders. The SLP conducts comprehensive evaluations, develops tailored treatment plans, and provides education and training for families and staff to address the communication and swallowing needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts assessments, formulates treatment plans, and implements interventions to address cognitive, communication, and swallowing challenges faced by patients.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, care management, and community resources to create effective discharge plans.
  • Ensures compliance and supports risk management initiatives through meticulous documentation.
  • The ideal candidate will have opportunities for professional growth and development through exposure to diverse clinical settings, including burns, orthopaedics, acute care, outpatient services, and program development.
Qualifications

Education

A Master's degree in Speech Pathology is required.

Certification/Licensure

Must be licensed in the state of practice.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's) is mandatory.

Skills

Preferred experience includes at least one year in a pediatric environment.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and departmental equity, with a range of $75,000 - $110,000.
