Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Lock and Key Specialist to join our team at Arcadia University. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and diverse environment, collaborating with various departments to ensure the efficient planning and execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of diversified carpentry duties, including rough and finish carpentry, and maintain a working knowledge of building components and codes.
  • Collaborate with Arcadia University Facilities Management Department personnel to solicit expertise of required crafts necessary to complete assigned projects.
  • Provide support for the daily operations of the department and day-to-day operations as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining Master Key Systems for University security by keeping accurate records of hardware changes and new lock installations in each building.
  • Ensure that an adequate and appropriate stock of locksmith supplies and equipment is available for use by maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five-year recent experience in trade
  • Ability to interpret blueprint drawings and sketches
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all facility personnel
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to exert up to 100lbs of force occasionally, and/or 50lbs of force frequently and/or up to 20lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.

The position requires the ability to travel to various locations, both on and off campus, and to work in a variety of physical conditions, including confined spaces, heights, mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibration, etc.

The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete all Arcadia University Safety training as outlined in training protocols and to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screening.
