MedVet is a leading network of specialty and emergency hospitals and urgent cares dedicated to delivering exceptional care and a supportive experience to pets and their families, referring veterinarians, and team members.

The Senior Accountant will collaborate with multiple departments to perform financial functions, including monthly reconciliations, analysis of financial statements, and capital expenditures. This role is responsible for reviewing reconciliations performed by staff accountants and training new hires to the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advanced journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Review of reconciliations performed by the accounting team
  • Assisting in scheduling and coordination of daily tasks among the GL Team
  • Responding to information requests and financial analysis
  • Meeting month-end close and reporting deadlines
  • Assisting with annual financial statement audits
  • Managing ACH and wire requests
  • New hire training, onboarding, and mentoring
  • Management of capital expenditures, including cost compliance review and reporting
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and organized approach
  • Detail-oriented and customer service skills
