Job Summary

KETTLER is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our team at The Fields of Silver Spring. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance and upkeep of our properties, providing exceptional customer service to our residents, and working collaboratively with our maintenance manager to achieve our goals.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to resident requests for maintenance and service, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of appliances, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
  • Participate in maintenance projects, including renovations and repairs, to ensure properties are well-maintained and meet our high standards.
  • Prepare vacant units for market-ready status through turn-over repairs and improvements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all systems at the property, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, treating residents and colleagues with respect and professionalism.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • EPA/CFC Type I & II certifications preferred - Must obtain within 180 days from date of hire.
  • Basic knowledge of appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
  • Valid Driver's License and must live within 30 minutes of the property.
  • Outstanding customer service and focus on providing residents with timely and accurate responses.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders over 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities.
