Job Title: Senior Assistant Property Manager

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Assistant Property Manager to support the Property Manager in the day-to-day operations and oversight of assigned properties.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, prepare, and process documents and procedures for the Mutual.
  • Respond to all requests of residents and assess needs to ensure that issues are addressed promptly.
  • Assist the Property Manager in researching and developing the Mutual Annual Operating Budget.
  • Assist the Property Manager in the selection of contract services, service agreements, and day-to-day monitoring of vendor performance to ensure full compliance with standards established within the service agreement.
  • Collect, analyze, and report statistical data as required to provide an accurate and current assessment of Mutual activities, functions, and objectives.
  • As directed, attend and participate in outside and in-house activities, meetings, and professional organizations.
  • Coordinate with various Leisure World of Maryland Corporation departments providing services to the Mutual.
  • Under the direction and supervision of the Property Manager, handle all other duties necessary to assist in the administration and operation of the Mutual.
  • Coordinate all resident move-in and move-out activities in the Mutual in accordance with the Mutual's Rules and Regulations.
  • Provide timely updated information regarding resident information to LWMC Accounting, IT, and Management for inclusion in information databases.
  • Assist, as necessary, with the annual audit and tax return preparation.
  • Assist the Property Manager with necessary work assignments to execute maintenance and repairs and cause the buildings, appurtenances, and grounds to be maintained according to standards established by the Board.
  • Maintain, or verify through on-site staff, inventory controls of all equipment, furniture, tools, office equipment, and supplies in accordance with the policies established by the Board.
  • Assist Property Manager in maintaining contracts for telephone service, pest control, landscape maintenance, janitorial service, elevator service, and other essential services included in the operating budget.
  • Assist in helping the Property Manager strive to achieve the goals and objectives of the Mutual and LWMC as promulgated by the respective Boards of Directors.
  • Assist the Property Manager in oversight of all Mutual projects, programs, and community relations.
  • Assist Property Manager to provide support and guidance to the Mutual volunteer leadership and advisory committees.
  • Assist in the adherence to provisions of the Mutual Documents and support compliance with the Mutual's rules and regulations.
  • Maintain policies/binders for all insurance policies protecting the Mutual.
  • Be responsible for comprehensive and timely reporting of all accidents, fires, and any and all claims relating to the management, maintenance, and operation of the property.
  • Keep full and complete records and render as often as may be required by the Board a full report of all operations during the period reported.
  • Conduct briefing with new residents concerning Mutual rules and regulations and assist in preparing and conducting resident's orientation programs.
  • Assist with enforcement of Mutual covenants, bylaws, restrictions, rules, and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

This position requires a customer service approach in dealing with a wide variety of owner, resident, renter, and contractor issues.


Required qualifications include; Five (5) or more years related experience and/or training, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) or comparable software with ability to consistently provide a high level of accurate work delivered in a timely manner. A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college/university or technical school preferred. Field of Study preferred is Business Administration.
