Requirements:
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with 18 credits in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
  • Completion of DCF Child Care Introductory training requirements is required.
  • You must be energetic and have a love for working with young children.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
  • Experience in Early Childhood Education is a must.
  • Preferable experience in Head Start and/or Early Head Start is a plus.
  • You must be able to use a computer and have data entry skills.
  • Able to pass FDLE level 2 background screening.
  • Familiarity with HighScope Curriculum and Creative Curriculum is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of Teachstone CLASS tool and Pyramid Model is a must.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive curriculums to address early childhood development needs.
  • Encourage social interactions between children and improve their self-esteem.
  • Plan engaging lessons that promote learning through arts and crafts, supervised play, and storytelling.
  • Monitor free time on the playground and ensure a safe and organized environment.
  • Communicate with parents to better understand the children's home lives and psyches.
  • Prepare reports for parents on each child's developmental progress.
