Quality Assurance Specialist

We are a leading manufacturer of precision metal fabrication, committed to building on our legacy of excellence. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality custom fabrication for our customers, and we're looking for a skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team.
Job SummaryThis is an entry to mid-level quality position responsible for monitoring the quality of materials and products by following established procedures, performing first article inspections, and supporting the production process on quality-related issues.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in attaining quality and cost goals
- Develop quality control plans
- Track internal and external quality levels
- Complete and submit customer-required documentation, including First Articles, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), and Production Parts Approval Process (PPAPs)
- Act as a team member for internal ISO audits
- Participate in root cause analysis and development of corrective action plans
- Monitor operations to ensure they meet production standards
- Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
- Inspect, test, and measure products to verify conformance to specifications using rulers, calipers, gauges, micrometers, and CMM equipment
- Conduct in-process inspections and part verification at the production machine, on the production floor as needed
- Remove products and materials that fail to meet specifications
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
- Report inspection and test data
- Receive and inspect raw materials
- Maintain compliance with ISO processes and procedures
- Can read blueprints and specifications
- Aptitude for accuracy and detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others in a positive and collaborative manner
- Must have the ability to communicate quality questions and issues with all company personnel
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions/schedules/timelines and handle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of various MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Access
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Must have good math skills relative to physical measurements of product
- Ability to understand/communicate in English to the extent necessary to perform functions of the job
- High School degree, diploma, GED, or Trade School Graduate
- Two years previous inspection experience in a manufacturing setting, sheet metal, or machining experience
- Diploma or associates degree in Quality Assurance or related manufacturing field and 2+ years' experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of GD&T highly preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and production drawings
$25-$30/hour
