Neurology Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology department at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, assisting our veterinarians during appointments and procedures, and contributing to the overall success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Skills: You will be responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication calculations and administration, digital radiography, patient prep and recovery, epidural administration, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Assisting Veterinarians: You will assist our veterinarians during patient appointments, providing outstanding client communication and education.
- Surgical Support: You will perform sterile scrub and assist doctors throughout surgical procedures.
- Patient Care: You will advocate for the patient, providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients.
- Equipment and Materials: You will have knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications.
- On-Call and Holiday Work: You will be able to work on-calls, holidays/weekends, and OT as needed.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as an RVT with anesthesia experience a must.
- Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must.
- Accuracy and Record Keeping: Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs; proficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures including daily treatments administered, patient status, procedures completed, supplies used, and anesthetic records.
- Medical Records: Review and understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient care.
- Anesthetic Monitoring: Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring is required.
- RVT Certification: RVT IS REQUIRED.
- Collaboration and Client Service: Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and a commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
