We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology department at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, assisting our veterinarians during appointments and procedures, and contributing to the overall success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Skills: Solid technical skills and anesthesia knowledge base, sound judgment, and the ability to function both independently and with a team are required.
- Procedural Skills: Venipuncture; IV catheter placement; medication calculations and administration; digital radiography; patient prep and recovery; epidural administration; anesthesia monitoring for a variety of anesthetized procedures including, but not limited to, CT and MRI.
- Client Communication: Assisting doctors during patient appointments, providing outstanding client communication and education.
- Surgical Support: Performing sterile scrub and assist doctors throughout surgical procedures.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocating for the patient, providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients.
- Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications.
- Flexibility: Ability to work on-calls, holidays/weekends, and OT as needed.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as an RVT with anesthesia experience a must.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must.
- Accuracy: Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs.
- Record Keeping: Proficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures including daily treatments administered, patient status, procedures completed, supplies used, and anesthetic records.
- Medical Records: Review and understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient care.
- Anesthetic Monitoring: Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring is required.
- RVT Certification: RVT IS REQUIRED.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and a commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
- Client Service: The ability to deliver exceptional client service is a priority.
