Job Summary:
Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, assisting doctors during appointments, and performing various tasks related to anesthesia and patient preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Skills: Solid technical skills and anesthesia knowledge base, sound judgment, and the ability to function both independently and with a team are required.
- Procedural Tasks: Venipuncture; IV catheter placement; medication calculations and administration; digital radiography; patient prep and recovery; epidural administration; anesthesia monitoring for a variety of anesthetized procedures including, but not limited to, CT and MRI.
- Assisting Doctors: Assisting doctors during patient appointments, providing outstanding client communication and education.
- Surgical Support: Performing sterile scrub and assist doctors throughout surgical procedures.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocating for the patient, providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients.
- Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications.
- Availability: Ability to work on-calls, holidays/weekends, and OT as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years experience as an RVT with anesthesia experience a must.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must.
- Accuracy: Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs.
- Record Keeping: Proficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures including daily treatments administered, patient status, procedures completed, supplies used, and anesthetic records.
- Medical Records: Review and understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient care.
- Anesthetic Monitoring: Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring is required.
- RVT Certification: RVT IS REQUIRED.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and a commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
- Client Service: The ability to deliver exceptional client service is a priority.
