About the Role
The Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer is a senior management position responsible for overseeing the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the electric utility. This role reports to the Chief Electric Utility Officer and has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions, including Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecasting service requirements and planning, organizing, and directing assigned resources to meet those requirements
- Developing and administering the department operations and capital improvement budgets
- Ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant utility operations, with responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffing
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Engineering, or an approved related field
- Seven years' experience in utility engineering or operations, including at least five years' experience in a senior management capacity
- A Master's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Management, or Engineering may be substituted for two years of the qualifying engineering and operations experience requirement
