About the Role

Solenis, a leading global producer of specialty chemicals, is seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee the plant operations of a network of facilities supporting Institutional and Food and Beverage businesses in North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Operations Oversight: Ensure the facilities are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Solenis policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Planning: Set strategies for the North America region to fulfill the needs of supplying products to Institutional and Food and Beverage businesses.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in operations, including process optimization, EH&S performance, cost reduction, people development, budgeting, and capital programs.
Additional Responsibilities
  • EH&S Performance: Ensure sites are driving to a commitment of zero in all EH&S KPIs, inclusive of zero injuries and improvement in TRIR year over year.
  • OTIF Target: Ensure facilities are resourced to reach an OTIF target of 95% or better.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure facilities comply with all federal, provincial, and local regulations and Solenis policies and procedures consistent with all PSM requirements.
  • Maintenance and Reliability: Ensure maintenance and reliability of all sites with strategies to meet future capacity needs.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Ensure manufacturing processes, packaging, raw material, and finished product inventory within set guidelines while maintaining required customer service levels.
  • Expense and Capital Budgets: Oversight of plant manufacturing expense and capital budgets to meet targets.
  • Process Technology: Resource new process technology at the site to aid in business growth.
  • Quality Programs: Ensure sites have quality programs, including ISO registration, maintenance, and improvement plans, standardized best practice in quality control, etc.
  • Labor Relations: Manage implementation of annual unbiased setting and performance appraisal process, people development, and training.
  • Supply Chain: Support the NA Supply Chain leader in developing the manufacturing strategic plan to support commercial growth plans.
  • Site Assets: Maintain site assets and optimize equipment life cycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and standardization at the site in the areas of safety, productivity, cost reduction, employee satisfaction, quality, etc.
Qualifications
  • Education: BS Technical Degree (Engineering preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience in a chemical operation, with plant management experience preferably more than 5 years.
  • Skills: Strong communication, leadership, people development, and decision-making skills.
  • Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
