We are in search of a meticulous and analytical Fleet Operations Specialist to enhance our client's capabilities. The ideal candidate will be tasked with leveraging fleet management tools to maximize vehicle performance, ensure safety, and manage costs effectively to fulfill the organization's fleet requirements across the board. This will involve collaboration with branch managers, territory directors, the safety team, and the fleet management unit.

This is a full-time direct hire position offering a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, a 401k plan, a hybrid work schedule (2 days in-office and 3 days remote), and paid time off.

The selected candidate will need to travel to designated sites for the two on-site days each week. A background in Fleet Management and proficiency in MS Excel is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Stay informed on federal, state, and local regulations that govern fleet operations, including vehicle inspections, emissions standards, and driver licensing requirements.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data related to fleet performance, fuel efficiency, maintenance expenses, and vehicle usage.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to enhance fleet performance based on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, vehicle uptime, and repair turnaround times.
  • Organize and manage the fleet's telematics requirements.
  • Track vehicle replacement needs and coordinate with fleet management to execute and maintain this process.
  • Work with the safety team to integrate new and updated safety features.
  • Assess fleet management processes and partner with leadership to implement improvements.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and dashboards to management, emphasizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
  • Collaborate with fleet management providers and business leaders to strategize future vehicle requirements and procurement.
  • Oversee licensing and title requirements in accordance with fleet standards.
  • Monitor advancements in fleet industry technology to enhance overall fleet safety and performance.
  • Work with vehicle upfitters to define and implement specifications and requirements for delivery trucks.
  • Track and oversee vehicles throughout the build process to ensure specifications and timelines are adhered to at final delivery.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers and service providers, including negotiating contracts and service agreements.
  • Monitor vendor performance to guarantee high-quality and cost-effective services.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills across various organizational levels.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
  • A proactive individual who can independently seek resolutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with fleet management software (currently utilizing Wheels) and GPS tracking systems.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, with less than 25% travel expected.
  • Demonstrated experience in fleet management or logistics.
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
