Design and Build a Safe and Sustainable Future

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Civil Site and Structural Designer to join our team in Richland, Washington. As a key member of our design team, you will play a critical role in the development of civil site and structural designs for our projects, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and sustainability.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that offers part-time telework flexibility. You will work closely with our team of engineers and designers to develop designs for civil site and structural systems, including earthwork, site grading, and structural design. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our designs meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Originate and check civil site and structural deliverables, including drawings and 3D models.
  • Review and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
  • Report design quantities compared to estimated quantities.
  • Work with civil/structural/architectural supervisor to plan, budget, and schedule drawing and 3D model deliverables within the discipline.
  • Participate in project design/model reviews and constructability reviews.
  • Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in civil site and structural design, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced experience in the use of AutoCAD, Civil3D, Tekla, and Revit or similar software.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, guidelines, and codes, including ASTM, ACI, AISC, and OSHA.
  • Ability to independently execute detailed design drawings of civil site and structural systems.
