Position Overview:

The Regulatory Contract Attorney will play a pivotal role in supporting PJM Interconnection's strategic objectives within the realms of operations, planning, markets, and compliance. This position requires collaboration with senior legal professionals to formulate, draft, and submit impactful regulatory documents and communications that align with PJM's ambitious agenda before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other relevant regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis and interpretation of legal issues pertinent to PJM's operations.
  • Oversee litigation and administrative proceedings at local, state, and federal levels related to PJM.
  • Draft, edit, and electronically file regulatory submissions, including tariff filings and compliance documents.
  • Manage external legal counsel in the preparation of PJM-related pleadings and proceedings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the legal department and PJM's business units to establish and implement regulatory strategies.
  • Provide comprehensive legal guidance to various departments on core business functions.
  • Engage in policy development and contribute to the formation of regulatory strategies.
  • Facilitate responses to discovery requests and manage the issuance of requests on behalf of PJM.
  • Offer legal representation in tariff compliance, reliability standards, and regulatory audits.
  • Act as counsel of record for PJM in matters before FERC and other regulatory agencies.
  • Review and refine pleadings prepared by outside counsel, ensuring alignment with PJM's interests.
  • Monitor regulatory decisions and analyze their potential impact on PJM's operations.

Qualifications:

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required for this position.
